Abbey’s multilingual team bring many years of conference organising experience from a variety of backgrounds. Our aim is to help you achieve the vision for your conference and we are dedicated to delivering excellence every step of the way in order to make that happen.

Our dream team

John Healy
Managing Director

John joined the Board of Abbey Tours in 2007 when Abbey Tours purchased the inbound business of O’Mara Travel (John was previously CEO of O’Mara Travel and prior to that of CIE Tours). He is involved in industry organisations and is currently a Board Member of Tourism Ireland. John is also a past Chairman of the Irish Tourist Industry Confederation (ITIC) – the key representative body for the tourism industry in Ireland and a Past President of the ITOA. He also served as a member on Business Tourism Forum and was Chairman of the Business Tourism Working Group. Currently, John serves as Treasurer of the Association of Irish Professional Conference Organisers.

Greg Carew
Director of Conferences & Sales

With more than 15 years' industry experience, Greg leads Abbey's conference division, managing a team of 25 people working on national and international association conferences in Ireland, the UK and internationally. He brings extensive expertise in the areas of business development, event management and people management. His portfolio includes successful partnerships with some of Ireland and the UK's leading organizations. 

Greg was Chair of the Association of Irish Professional Conference Organisers in 2024 and today continues to shape industry standards through his contributions to key business events and industry working groups. Beyond conferences, he volunteers with an organization called Golf4All, which introduces children with special needs to the game of golf.

Anja Fischer
Director of Operations

A native of Germany, Anja joined Abbey in 2012 working as special projects executive. Anja has taken care of many national and international conferences & special interest events. She has a calm approach, multi-tasking to the highest level, and was appointed overall Director of Operations in 2022.

With a degree in Tourism & Languages, Anja is a highly skilled and experienced Project Manager who now oversees all our Project Managers, offering consultancy and support to the team. Anja likes to travel and meet new people and she thoroughly enjoys working onsite at conferences, seeing our work in action and the client response.

Emma Conlon
Senior Manager, Conference Operations

Based between Dublin and Dundalk, Emma has a wealth of experience producing and developing a large, high quality events to tight deadlines and on-budget. She is organised, proactive and meticulous and has extensive people management, project management and team leading experience.

Emma has a passion for working with people and thrives in a busy and challenging environment, she has a history of bringing the best out of people and committees to create memorable events.

Lindsay McClenaghan
Senior Manager, Business Development

Originally from Northern Ireland but now based in Edinburgh, Lindsay has significant experience in the UK association events industry, having worked in-house with several national medical associations. Lindsay also brings destination and bidding experience from her time working with a convention bureau.  

Priding herself in the fact that she constantly looks for new and creative ways to add value to her events, Lindsay has a strong focus on the impact and legacy of meetings, ensuring the needs of the organisation and members are always front of mind.

Fiona McGillivray
Senior Project Manager

Based in Glasgow, Fiona is a highly experienced conference professional with almost 20 years experience in the industry. In that time, Fiona has lead a number of large international association conferences and her ability to secure repeat events and clients is testament to the quality of the conferences she delivers.

As one of Abbey's Senior Project Managers, Fiona is a key member of the Abbey team and leads on some our most high profile events. In her spare time she enjoys music and is often out enjoying Glasgow's live music scene.

Claire Devine
Project Manager

Claire is a knowledgeable project and programme manager with the ability to think on her feet and overdeliver on targets. Having gained a wealth of experience from the retail industry, she has worked with major corporations, managing their regular and annual conferences for international attendees.

Claire has worked with startups as well as established organisations, delivering projects to the highest standard - on time and within budget. She is a great team player and leader, always looking to identify process improvements and engaging committees.

Chrissy Schröder
Project Manager

Chrissy is a self-motivated, enthusiastic and dedicated Conference Project Manager with experience in Business Development, Tourism and Hospitality. With the Abbey Group since 2017, she has worked across the company in various roles and is one of our most technically experienced Project Managers, regularly advising others on how to get the most out of the systems we use.

Chrissy is an active person and likes to spend her spare time outdoors, hiking and exploring the countryside around London, where she lives.

Rachel Neil
Project Manager

Based in Glasgow, Rachel is a highly experienced conference professional with a diverse background in events management and hospitality, having managed events across several sectors including healthcare, finance and tech. Rachel has lead a number of international association conferences and has an impressive network of connections in Scotland.

She is an active member of ABPCO and is committed to implementing the latest trends and best practices in her events.

Amanda Kilian
Sponsorship Manager

Amanda has over 20 years experience in the events industry including holding senior management roles in her native South Africa. Amanda plays a core role in the sales of sponsorship packages and has significant experience in dealing with onsite logistics and managing the relationships with sponsors and partners.

Amanda puts a strong emphasis on creativity within the sponsorship packages she prepares for events and her ability to secure repeat clients is a testament to the relationships that she builds and maintains throughout the process.

Chris Dooley
Graphic Designer

Chris joined the Abbey Conference & Events team in 2023, bringing over 6 years of graphic design experience, particularly in brand identity. He brings a new level of creativity to the events he works on and is consistently keeping up to date with the latest trends, software and skills a designer needs. A great team player who works on his own initiative and tackles problems with a positive attitude.

Outside of work, Chris enjoys going to the cinema, weightlifting and playing bass.

Aaron Sundararajan
Finance Manager

Aaron is just one of five qualified accountants in the Abbey Group and brings over eight years of dedicated service to our financial operations. A part-qualified ACCA finalist, Aaron plays a vital role in our monthly management reporting, balance sheet management, and budgeting processes. He is our key contact for all financial advice and his expertise in multi-currency accounting, VAT handling and strong analytical capabilities have strengthened our financial controls.

Marcos Campos
Administration Manager

Marcos is a bilingual professional with a Bachelor's degree in Marketing and Communication, plus a background in branding and the events industry. He is a great team player who works on his own initiative and demonstrates excellent leadership and problem-solving competences.

Marcos is a huge cycling enthusiast and gig hunter outside of work. He is also a long-time supporter of Palmeiras, Brazil's best football team, as he likes to say.

Marcos will be the name your delegates know when they turn up onsite, he looks after payments, visa and other specific enquiries. He’s great at what he does and it’s common that he gets attendees asking to thank him in person.

Ina May
Assistant Project Manager

Ina brings five years of German events industry experience to Abbey, joining the team in 2023. With an events management background and natural creativity, she excels in client communication and delegate services. Ina has quickly become an invaluable member of our onsite teams, delivering outstanding service at every event. An outdoor enthusiast, she spends her free time rowing and cycling.

Ophélie Nougarède
Assistant Project Manager

Ophélie joined Abbey after graduating university in Paris with a Masters in International Project Management. During her studies, she completed several placements, gaining practical events experience. She joined the Abbey team permanently after her skills as an temporary staff member proved she was an invaluable asset, since then Ophélie has been growing in her role to become an active member of the events industry and a key member of our team.

Outside work, Ophélie is creative and appreciates all kinds of cultural activities, she particularly enjoys going to artistic events.

Sophia Ferraro
Assistant Project Manager

After making an outstanding impression as a temporary team member, Sophia's exceptional contributions led to her permanent position at Abbey. With a bachelor's degree in foreign literatures and additional focused studies in tourism, her academic background brings a perfect blend of cultural understanding and industry expertise to the role. Sophia’s experience across catering, tourism, and hospitality has already proven invaluable, and she continues to enhance the conference team's capabilities every day.

Outside work, Sophia loves to cook and try different cuisines. She also likes spending her time outdoors, whether it's hiking, traveling, or simply enjoying nature.

Jessee Mooney
Assistant Project Manager

Jessee knew events were her passion long before studying at TU Dublin, where she honed the skills to turn that passion into a career. A creative at heart, she believes in creating "the moments that make life a little bit more interesting."

Her talent lies in the details and adding that spark that transforms good events into unforgettable ones. Meticulous in her approach, Jessee brings valuable experience from high-end hotels and corporate events to Abbey. In her spare time, she creates fun events for friends and family - a testament to her genuine love for bringing people together.
